About

Klei atelier is a space where you can explore the essence of craftmanship.
At the atelier in the heart of downtown Reykjavík, the theme is the irreplaceable art of craft, where the timeless is celebrated; an ode to those who shape materials with their hands, bringing objects of profound beauty and utility to life.
The atelier is a space where everyone is welcome; all courses are tought in both Icelandic and English where the goal is always the same; sharing the knowledge of ceramics and letting your creativity shine.
All courses are lead by Hulda, the founder of Klei atelier. Hulda has a grad diploma as a Ceramicist from Reykjavík School of Visual Arts. She is experienced in leading workshops and teaching both for Reykjavík School of Visual arts, Rvk Ritual space and her own independent workshops.
Hulda is a multidisciplinary ceramic artist, raised in a creative environment with her father who is a folk artist and a carpenter. Growing up in this environment taught her the meaning of craftsmanship and respecting the process behind creating with your hands. Her distinct style is characterised by the harmonious balance she achieves between form and function. With each creation designed to elevate the everyday experience. Her artistic vision highlights the limitless potential of design through different techniques, resulting in works that are both aesthetically pleasing and practical.
